Thonichaal had n will always hold a special place in my heart..Coz itz where I started and itz where I ended up in the last before leaving Wayanad forever....Leaving was just an physical separation but I am still glued to that place mentally..
Dunno what was so special abt Thonichaal but one thing it was the place where we were never treated as outsiders and we enjoyed being the corner stone of the locals.
First year has lot to speak about, for me it was not more than 4 months and I faced my first exams in May. Actually it was a bit tough on my side to come back to science stream after a gap of almost 6 months as I had done B Com in between. I was getting good in Accountancy but then I had to suddenly face the mathematical formulas again... what a way to go... Maths was always exciting to me... I always did well except Maths III , the Fourier series really sucked ....
So the exams S1S2 exams.. For the first time in my life I was gonna appear for exam that were from a different board or university.. Didn't know how it will turn out... We had prepared like anything(actually that was far from my sort of preparations coz I was still wondering what did I studied from college so as to write the exam) ..Sandeep,Sreejith and Me were the only persons at room all others went to their native place and I think they better utilized their study leaves)....Timoshencko..Remember that authro??? Oh that subject called Mechanics still brings some real pain in the ***.....
..............................
Dunno how the study leaves exhausted early.. but one thing was sure we were nowhere near the full preparation.. So we decided to handle one thing(Paper) at a time... That was a good ploy as we had lot of subjects we liked and lot of subjects we really hated(for instance Chemistry, Mechanics, Electrical)...I think the list covers every subject.. :-).... I don remember much of the sessional exams and I really doubt whether they were actually conducted in the first year....
Anyways we were staring at our Exam schedules.. M1, M2 doesn't really scared but subjects that followed them were like ........(fill in the blanks with appropriate words)... Exams started and we learned a lot during those times may be more than what we learned the whole year... Modules were selected and portions were dejected depending upon previous years Q papers...
So we had a subset of the actual subject to prepare for the exam.. I am talking about us guys... Gals I dunno may be they started preparing for the exams Right from day one at the college.. We were exactly opposite... Coz we never believed in Revisions, as a matter of fact we never get time for a revisions ..we were damn too busy deciding on the subset of topics 2-3 days before the exam... There are subjects that we studied only during the examination... Guess that's what is the nature of Diplomacy with the subjects.... We never let those subjects take our precious spare time which we were more than happy to do non academic things like Swimming , playing cricket.. movies etc...
Exams started and they went on as regular days..nothing special to mention about them... coz they were always similar.. After exam there's an ritual to ask "How did it go".. and everyone asked it even though they know the answer.. just for the sake of question. And mostly the reply wud be ya it was ok for the examiner...Coz he dont have much to evaluate... :-)...That was not sarcastic, actually it was truth conveyed in the best possible manner...
Then there was another question.. What about the next exam??? What about it.. How can I answer that.. Depends on the person who set the paper..If he picks question from previous year, then God bless him otherwise only God knows what am I gonna write in the Answer Sheet...
One exam particular in the first year that I can't forget coz it was the trend setter for us...Electrical Engineering(109).. We were inside the exam hall staring at the question paper as if wondering whether we prepared for the same subject or not...After 15 minutes we heard a sound.. As we had nothing much to write in that paper we looked around most of the time in a hope that God will provide the answer..So we had all the ears.. Sanoop stood up... He said he wanna go. We looked surprised he was the guy who prepared the most for that subject..We were shell shocked.. Then our examiner said you can leave only after 30 minutes.. He hopelessly sat down staring in our faces... Exactly 30 minutes into the exam we saw him flying out of the door... So there goes the studious guy..then what are we supposed to do in here... we followed the act... That was the First scooting of exam I ever saw but definitely not the last one... It was just de beginning.....
